AAVMC Policy
VMCAS Initiation Fee
(To establish fees and membership requirements for participation in VMCAS)
WHEREAS, the members of AAVMC have invested substantial time and money in the development of the Veterinary Medical College Application Services, and AAVMC has incurred substantial debt to finance the system;
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of AAVMC desires to make VMCAS available to additional schools and colleges of veterinary medicine which are eligible for membership in AAVMC;
BE IT RESOLVED that any school or college of veterinary medicine seeking to participate in the VMCAS program shall be granted all the privileges of participation upon the satisfaction of the following criteria:
Any new school or college shall pay an initial subscription fee, reflecting an appropriate portion of the development cost of the program. Such fee shall be $60,000, or as modified by the Board of Directors. Each AAVMC fiscal year, the initiation fee shall be adjusted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Baltimore-Washington Region, January to January, Consumer Price Index (CPI), and further recommends that the policy be reviewed by the Assembly every five years. This initiation fee will not be applicable to the following schools:

• Iowa State University
• Louisiana State University
• University of Minnesota
• University of Missouri
• North Carolina State University
• Oklahoma State University
• University of Pennsylvania
• Purdue University
• University of Tennessee
• Tufts University
• Virginia-Maryland Regional College
• University of Wisconsin
• University of California, Davis
• Cornell University
• University of Georgia
• University of Illinois at Urbana
• Kansas State University
• Michigan State University
• Mississippi State University
• Université de Montréal
• Ohio State University
• Oregon State University
• University of Prince Edward Island
• University of Saskatchewan
• Texas A&M University
• Tuskegee University
• Washington State University
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any school or college of veterinary medicine shall be required to maintain membership in AAVMC in conjunction with the subscription to the VMCAS service.
