AAVMC Policy
Print and/or Electronic Versions of the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or Constituent Directory

1. The AAVMC will provide once per year at no charge to each Member and Affiliate Non-Voting Member an AAVMC “Key Contact List” and an AAVMC “Constituent Directory.” The Key Contact List, Constituent Directory and the contents of each hereof and data and other information contained therein are proprietary products and the exclusive property of AAVMC. The contents of and data and other information contained in the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or Constituent Directory provided to AAVMC Members and Affiliate Non-Voting Members, may not, in whole or in part or in any manner whatsoever, be reproduced, copied, disseminated, entered into a computer database, or converted into any electronic form in any manner, used in whole or in part, as part of or in connection with a mailing list or any part of the contents, information or data contained there, distributed or otherwise utilized in any form manner or by any means except for the sole and exclusive use by the Member or Affiliate Non-Voting Member, including their agents or representatives.
   
2. Permission to use the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory, in print or electronic form, will be granted only to those individuals, customer firms, organizations, and agencies that agree to be bound by conditions imposed by AAVMC.  Requests to develop lists that currently do not exist will not be honored.  All requests shall come to the AAVMC Executive Director with documentation to support the request and the required application fee set by the AAVMC Board of Directors.  No application fees will be refunded.
   
3. The AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory in print or in electronic form may be made available to non-AAVMC members requesting this information for use in communications that are germane to academic veterinary medicine as determined by the AAVMC.  A party requesting the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or the AAVMC Constituent Directory must demonstrate that such use is germane to academic veterinary medicine.  If permission to use the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory is granted, such use shall be solely upon and limited to the terms and conditions set forth by AAVMC.
   
4. The fact that an individual or organization may have differences of opinion or points of view with the AAVMC shall not, in of itself, bar an individual or organization from consideration for use of an existing AAVMC mailing or email list.
   
5. The AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory will not be made available for use in connection with the dissemination of materials which the AAVMC characterizes as inappropriate, offensive, or deceptive.
   
6. Except for programs and activities approved by the AAVMC, which approval shall be in AAVMC’s sole and complete discretion, the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory will not be made available for use in connection with publicity or advertising that might imply, through copy or layout, AAVMC endorsement or an individual or organization, its products, or its services.
   
7. The AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory will not be available for membership solicitations except by organizations whose purposes are germane to academic veterinary medicine.  The determination of whether an organization’s purposes are germane to academic veterinary medicine shall be made solely by AAVMC in its complete discretion and such determination shall be final.
   
8. The AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory will not be made available to any individual, organization, or government agency to establish a data base or any other collection of data, electronic or otherwise, if that information or data utilizes, in whole or in part, any information or data contained in the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or the AAVMC Constituent Directory. 
   
9. The AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory will not be made available for any fund raising or solicitation purposes by any individual or organization except for scientific meetings, symposia, or colloquia that are officially sponsored or sanctioned by the AAVMC.  Approval for use of the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory in this manner shall be in AAVMC’s sole and complete discretion.
   
10. AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory will not be made available for religious or political appeals or for any other religious or political purpose, either directly or indirectly, in whole or in part.
    
11. All decisions concerning requests for the AAVMC Key Contact List and/or AAVMC Constituent Directory shall be made by the AAVMC Executive Director.
