Class of 2023 Veterinary College Application Cycle Open May 11-September 17, 2018

Washington, D.C., June 5, 2018  –  The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges’ (AAVMC)  Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) is accepting applications for the Class of 2023 from May 11 through September 17th at midnight EST.

More than 25 years old, the sophisticated common application service is refined every year to make it more effective for both applicants and admissions officers. VMCAS coordinates applications for 29 of the 30 American schools and colleges and many of its international members.

This cycle opens amidst a period of slight growth in the numbers of applicants to veterinary colleges and schools. Last year, a 6% increase in individuals applying to veterinary school and an overall 7% increase in the total number of applications were noted. There has been slight, but steady growth over the past few VMCAS cycles.

The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) is a nonprofit membership organization working to protect and improve the health and welfare of animals, people and the environment around the world by advancing academic veterinary medicine. Members include 49 accredited veterinary medical colleges in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
