The University of Illinois is in Urbana-Champaign, a community of 100,000 people located 140 miles south of Chicago. The College of Veterinary Medicine is located at the south edge of the campus. In addition to over 500 veterinary students, the college has about 100 graduate students plus a full complement of residents and interns. There are more than 100 full-time faculty with research interests in a variety of biomedical sciences and clinical areas. This research activity offers a broad variety of experiences for students. The college also offers students a dynamic, integrated core-elective curriculum to prepare for careers in almost any area of the profession.
