Ms. Susan Leigh has experience leading the execution and direction of strategic marketing and communications initiatives for both the government and non-profit sector. As a marketing and communications strategist, she has helped to launch multiple product, promotion, web and mobile app initiatives. Her experience includes web, digital and social media management. A sense of creative insight and attention to detail has also contributed to the development of award-winning television and radio campaigns. Strong leadership and project management skills have prepared her to lead in any role. More recently, she founded and led her own marketing and communications firm, Bon Viv Consulting. As principal consultant with Bon Viv, she provided marketing, communications and business advisory consulting for small business and non-profit organizations.
Prior to trying her hand at entrepreneurship, she served as the Chief of Marketing and Advertising for the Office of Lottery and Gaming, District of Columbia Government. Susan was also the Director of Public Relations at the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA). At NDTA, she established the organization’s marketing and communications strategy, developed a web presence, and published the monthly Defense Transportation Journal.
Ms. Leigh has a diverse professional background which has prepared her to step into any role and environment. Her career began in Customer Service for Verizon Wireless. Additionally, she held project management roles for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and worked in Sales Training for US Airways. Additionally, she serves as a board member and advisor for National Black Movie Association.
Ms. Leigh is a lifetime member and active volunteer of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Sustaining Member of Junior League of Washington, and member of The Links, Incorporated. She is passionate about the arts, working with youth and enjoys serving others through her civic and community activities. In her spare time, she enjoys family & friends, traveling, movies, playing tennis, baking, and testing out new recipes.
Ms. Leigh is a proud graduate of Florida A&M University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition, she has a Master of Arts in Strategic Communications from Seton Hall University and an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
