Primary Care Veterinary Educators (PCVE)
A primary care veterinary educator provides instruction and training in primary care.
PCVE Mission
To advance and inspire primary care veterinary educators worldwide.
For the purpose of defining the AAVMC specific PCVE community, it is currently limited to those educators on the faculty/staff of an AAVMC member institution, whose primary/major assignment is companion animal primary care education. The CVM is requested to identify individuals within their CVM who best represents this description.
For the purpose of PCVE symposium attendance, subsidized travel is provided to a single CVM representative in small animal companion animal primary care education.
Goals
- Enhance primary care education programs within the colleges of veterinary medicine
- Develop excellent primary care educators who prepare career ready future veterinarians
- Support retention, engagement, and wellbeing of primary care veterinary educators
- Facilitate collaboration between primary care veterinary educators and the profession
