AAVMC Names Ted Mashima Interim CEO

WASHINGTON, DC (August 4, 2025) — The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) named Ted Mashima, DVM, Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 1, 2025.

Mashima has been with AAVMC since 2008 and most recently served as Chief Strategy Officer, where he provided direction for and oversaw initiatives and programs that addressed educational and research priorities of the AAVMC.

As reported in May 2025, Sterling Martin is assisting with the ongoing recruitment for AAVMC’s permanent CEO. Inquiries should be directed to David Martin, CEO and founder.

Dorothy Gray, who previously served as Interim CEO, will resume her duties as AAVMC’s Chief Operating Officer.
