Highlighting Excellence: AAVMC Unveils 2025 Award Winners

WASHINGTON, DC, January 15, 2025 — The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) proudly announces its 2025 award winners, recognizing exceptional contributions to academic veterinary medicine through excellence in research, leadership, teaching, and advancing diversity.

• Dr. Herman Barkema, University of Calgary

2024 AAVMC Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award, Presented by Zoetis

• Dr. Dean Hendrickson, Colorado State University

AAVMC Iverson Bell Award

• Dr. Susan Williams, University of Georgia

AAVMC Billy E. Hooper Award for Distinguished Service

• Dr. Oscar Fletcher, North Carolina State University
