Tricia Gorham graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1991 with an AS degree in Veterinary Technology. She began her career in a local small-animal veterinary clinic, where she advanced to the role of technician manager. In 1996, she joined St. Petersburg College as an adjunct instructor while continuing her work in clinical practice.
Motivated to expand her expertise, she earned a bachelor’s degree in vocational education from the University of Central Florida in 2005. After transitioning into a fulltime position with the college, she continued her academic advancement and completed a master’s degree in teaching with a specialization in instructional technology from National University.
Gorham currently serves as Program Director for the College of Veterinary Technology at St. Petersburg College, overseeing both the face-to-face and online AS degree programs. She also helps develop annual study-abroad opportunities for students, most recently traveling with a group of 20 students to Zimbabwe.
She remains deeply involved in advancing the veterinary technology profession at the state and national levels. Her service includes participation in the Florida Veterinary Technician Association’s Legislative Action Committee and Certification Committee (as cochair), representation of District 4 for NAVTA, membership on the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA), presidency of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators, involvement with the AAVMC task force on team-based health care, and service on the AAVSB VTNE committee.
