The Academic Affairs Committee supports the AAVMC’s strategic goal to advance teaching and learning to prepare students, faculty and academic staff for professional success in a wide variety of careers (Strategic Plan Goal 4).
The Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) is a Committee of the Assembly that functions in an advisory capacity to the AAVMC Board of Directors and the Assembly. The AAC provides a forum for the academic program leaders of veterinary colleges to discuss issues of common concern. The AAC addresses all aspects of veterinary medical education and student affairs. By sharing resources and consulting experts, the leaders work together to strengthen their educational programs.
Composition
The AAC is comprised of the Associate and Assistant Deans for Academic Affairs from each AAVMC member institution. The leadership of the AAC consists of a chair, chair-elect, and past chair, with one-year terms in each position. Leadership transition occurs immediately following the Annual Conference.
