Elisabeth Cavallaro joined the AAVMC in January 2024 as the Manager for Wellbeing and Professional Competencies. She is responsible for managing wellbeing-related projects, working with wellbeing professionals at member institutions, and serving the association’s wellbeing committee. Elisabeth has over a decade of experience working in health promotion and is passionate about systemic-level change that supports the wellbeing of communities.

Previously, Elisabeth served as the Associate Director for Wellness and Prevention Services at Appalachian State University, where she managed a variety of wellness-related programs, including mental health education, suicide prevention, and general wellness promotion. Before that, she worked for the Florida Youth Suicide Prevention Project, providing suicide prevention training across the state. She received her Master of Public Health from the University of North Florida and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University. She is also a Master Certified Health Education Specialist.

In her free time, Elisabeth enjoys reading a good book, going on a short hike, playing a couple rounds of pickleball, messing around on her guitar, and hanging out with friends. She shares her home with a boxer named Tyson and a cat named Neeko.
