Mrs. Lola Onabiyi joined AAVMC in January 2025 as the Controller. In her role, she oversees all financial operations, ensures compliance with financial regulations, and works closely with the executive team to develop strategic financial plans. Her role also involves managing internal audits, supervising external audits, optimizing financial processes, providing insights to support business growth, and reporting to the Board of Directors. She demonstrates her analytical skills, attention to detail, dedication, and expertise in improving processes and adopting technology to improve efficiency and promote integrity.
A seasoned financial accountant with several years of experience, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, an MBA, and a Masters (MSc) in Accounting and Managerial Finance from the University of Maryland. She is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with work experience in various industries including audit, banking, consulting, healthcare, and non-profit where she has shown astounding skills managing several projects aimed at reducing company expenditure, optimizing operations, cutting short-term losses, maximizing long-term growth and expanding the organization’s footprint.
Outside of work, she is passionate about financial literacy, family, and marriage and volunteers her time to teach marriage-building skills to couples through her church. She is a relationship and professional mentor. She loves children and teaches Sunday school at her local church. During her free time, she enjoys reading novels, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Lola’s dedication to her profession and her commitment to continuous improvement make her a respected leader in the field of accounting and finance.
