Renee Stake joined the AAVMC staff in November 2020 as the Executive Assistant and Program Manager. In this role, she works closely with the senior leadership team on various initiatives and serves as the administrative staff liaison to the Board of Directors.
Previously, Renee worked at U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) in their Meeting and Travel Services department. In that role, she handled the planning and promotion of USP workshops as well as managing internal staff events and external board and governance meetings. Prior to joining USP, Renee spent 10 years in various roles in the marketing and business development department of the international law firm of Troutman Pepper LLP. While at Troutman, she volunteered with the Catholic Charities Legal Network to develop her fundraising and sponsorship skills as the coordinator of their annual golf tournament.
An experienced event planner, Renee is a Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) and a past president of the DC Chapter of the International Live Events Association (ILEA).
She received her B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland at College Park and her M.S. degree in Marketing at The Johns Hopkins University.
She is originally from Baltimore and currently lives in Rockville with her husband and two sons. In her free time, she stays busy volunteering in the community and chasing after her boys.
