No. AAVMC is an association of institutions of higher education, and does not provide any kind of veterinary services. Please contact your state veterinary medical association for a list of care providers in your area. You may also look at our membership page to see if there is a veterinary college near you.
AAVMC does not accredit DVM or equivalent educational programs. This is done by the AVMA Council on Education. AAVMC is, however, responsible for appointing a portion of the council’s membership. For more information, see the AVMA website.
The AAVMC does not rank veterinary medical colleges. Please refer to our position statement on third party ranking systems.
AAVMC is an association of institutions of higher education, whereas AVMA is an association of individual veterinarians. While AAVMC and AVMA have many areas of common interest and collaboration, each is an independently incorporated organization.

Dues are billed in April and are due July 1 of each year. AAVMC sends the dues invoice to the institutional representative as well as the financial contact for the institution. For more information, please contact accounting@aavmc.org
Annual Volunteer Call
AAVMC hosts a call for volunteers each year to fill committee vacancies. Appointment Process: All committee members are appointed by the AAVMC President. Term of Service: Committee members commit to a three-year term commencing after the April Annual Conference.

Members
Members can participate in key decision-making bodies, including the Board of Directors and the Assembly. They are eligible for positions on governance and finance committees, as well as the Data Committee.
All Member Types
All members can submit nominations or self-nominations to participate in councils and committees related to veterinary education, professional development, wellbeing, and research.
Specialized Roles
Specialized roles, such as advocacy committee positions, liaison appointments, JVME Editorial Board positions, and participation in initiatives, task forces, and working groups, are available by invitation based on qualifications and expertise.
Individuals who are members of staff or faculty at an AAVMC member institution can email info@aavmc.org with an announcement. AAVMC will review the request and determine whether it can be accommodated. For job postings, the AAVMC maintains a Jobs Board which can be accessed here. AAVMC moved away from listservs in 2020 and now hosts the association’s various communities on AAVMC Connect. AAVMC Connect Communities are limited to staff or faculty of AAVMC member institutions or invited guests serving in specific consultancy roles.
